Teachers of Ecumenical Contemplative Arts (THECLA) is an interfaith learning community committed to advancing contemplative practice or silent prayer as a basis for understanding across the faith traditions. Our membership consists of lay people from diverse nations and faiths who are practitioners or teachers of contemplative practices. THECLA provides a code of teaching ethics, programs, and publications to support the teaching of contemplative practices.

One of the aims of the THECLA Interfaith Initiative is to gather practitioners of contemplative disciplines from across traditions together in retreat space to share their meditative practices and to spend time together in silent space.  A THECLA Interfaith Silent Retreat comes to represent to its participants a haven of peace and understanding, a place where they can literally become part of the change they wish to see in the world.
